Am I being stupid? Isn't Yudkowski's question already answered by Marx and others who have based off of his work? Like, you can vehemently disagree with the efficacy of his solutions, or think that implementing those solutions would have horrible side effects, but the basic description of the actual problem would still be sound, no? The reason that people have to scrape 60 painful and humiliating hours a week for bosses is that the bosses own a disproportionate amount of scarce means of production, land and other rentable necessities. And that a good amount of the not poor people generally gravitate towards rent seeking behavior, as they have at least since the dawn of agriculture.
